Dale Rogers Plays 500th Game

On Saturday the 18th of October 2014 Dale Rogers played his 500th game for the NBCCC, wicket keeping in the firsts against AYC – a match that will be his final game in the First XI. Dale began his career for North Balwyn Uniting in 1976/77, a club that was part of the merger that formed The Panthers as they are known today. He has played in four premierships including the back to back Burt & Macgibbon Premiership sides of 1999/2000 and 2000/01. He is a former Club President and Life Member of North Balwyn Combined.

Panthers, past and present, members of other clubs in the ECA, Dale’s family and friends all gathered at the clubrooms on Saturday night to pay tribute to Dale’s remarkable achievement. Many thanks go to former club coach Brendan McArdle for emceeing the night, and to Daryl Gove, Darren Ward, Marcus Hyde, David Beattie, Simon Kann and ECA umpire Keith Carr who all shared their insights into various phases of Dale’s career.
